My Crush

Dear Crush,

At this moment in time, you are non-existent. My heart has no room for minor crushes but only for true loves. I don't like to play games. However, I presume that for true loves to bloom one must be a crush first.

So when and if you come into my life, I hope you will be patience and real with me. I hope you feel comfortable and enjoy being around me. I hope that you will learn how devoted I can be to the one I love. I hope you become one of those people who I've come to love along the way.

Regardless, I hope life takes care of you and you always choose the right. If I am crushing on you, you must have shown to me to be a responsible, righteous young man. Thank you for your faith.

My Best Friend

Dear Best Friend,

I am starting my letter-writing journey. I have no idea how successful my attempt will be, but I do know that whatever letters I do end up writing I most likely won't send. They're here to see anyway.

I have many close friends in my life. I've called a select few "best" because I believe these people lift me up and inspire me to be the person I want to become. They are examples to me. I'm writing to you tonight because you were the first "best" I had, and probably one of the strongest influences outside of my own family I have.

You do inspire me. Day in and day out. You really never cease to amaze me with how close you are to the Lord, your obedience, your patience, and your understanding. Your strength moves mountains and everyone can see it. You are looked up to by so many people, and being an example comes naturally to you.

I have missed you, but in 32 days I will welcome you home. In our time apart, I have learned many things. For one, I've learned to stand on my own two feet by having Jesus Christ as the center of my life. I've grown and matured by being on my own and taking responsibility for myself. I am not perfect and there are incidences I'm not proud of, but I have learned from my burns, and I will always be in that process. Hearing your stories through written words has a sense of awe for me. Even when I can't see you, I can't hear you, and I can't touch you, I can still feel you.

A while back you wrote to me and said you'd support me in my decisions. You also wrote "And I'll walk along side you, too". I'm here to promise that same thing. I want nothing more than for you to be happy, and I will walk along side you until you'll have me no more.

I love and have always loved you. May we soar together some day soon.
