Glorious, glorious weekend. For me, the weekend has just begun. And it's a special weekend, as General Conference will be for 8 hours this weekend and I will once again get to hear life changing advice and guidelines to bring my bliss higher than ever. However, this weekend also consists of homework. I've got some papers and quizzes to take, nothing too critical. It's crazy though, I just made an appointment for a blood lipid profile and a skinfold test, as my American Epidemic class requires it. That class is fascinating. I know why and how the body burns what fuel sources, how the cardiovascular system functions, and what we need to do in order to maintain a healthy life style. Did you know that if both parents of a child are not obese, it's really only about 8% that the child will be obese? However, if one parent is obese, the child has a 40% probability of becomign obese. And if both parents are obese, the child has about a 80% chace of becoming obese. A lot of these factors have to do with environmental variables. I now blame the "freshman 15" on the people around us and the convenience and cost of food, too. Ok, that's not fair, but it sure does take some work to stay healthy. About 50% of us are going to die from some form of heart disease if we keep this up.
Ok, we don't want to hear Vicki rant about how healthy we're all eating. It was just an interesting fact that I thought was informable.
Other than school, I've just been spending a lot of time with friends and chatting with Casey. Everyone seems to be doing pretty well so nothing exciting to report, except...
I have my first soccer game tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not competitive, but it is still a game. I haven't actually played on a team in a game for 2 years, so I'm really looking forward to it. Plus, afterwards I'm going to Chelsie's to watch Flash Forward and Grey's. Ahh, I love Thursdays.
Hopefully pictures... evertually... soon... of something. Hang tight!
